I simply bring along silverware (spoon & fork) and and a few cloth napkins.
A snap to clean up and nothing to dispose of.
I keep the silverware handy in a zip loc in my day pack, along with my plate. When I leave my tent in the morning, sometimes I don't make it back before lunch time and this way I just don't have to worry about it.
Note To Festie Virgins: You could easily be camped a long ways from where your meals will be served. If you take a morning workshop, you might not be thrilled with having to run alllll the way back to your campsite to pick up your plate and silverware.

I have a set of eating utensils that are metal and fold up like a swiss army knife. It's a little heavy, but nice to have a sharp knife and real fork, spoon too.

I use a spoon for everything. Don't miss the fork. Always have my trusty pocketknife with me--which can serve for spearing things if needed.
