ww, sorry you can't be here, but hope you can join us mid-day on Wednesday or Thursday for knot-tying. . .we'll beam fest energy toward the south that day. . . the knots I use most often are the bowline, truckers' hitch, half hitch, and whatever the knot is called that makes a loop that can slip open/closed but which holds when pulled . . .perhaps it is called a tautline hitch.

Yes, ToNIC that's the one, although in my experience it takes more wraps around the standing line than the few shown in the picture. And, the proofreader in me noticed that in one place it calls it tautline hitch and in another place there's a type and it is called tautiline hitch. . .
and, thanks for the link to netknots...looks like a handy site although I have often have a hard time translating from flat drawing/directions to actual knot. . .

SKWD~ You're welcome! and I AGREE. Gosh I have a hard time translating from a flat picture. I much prefer visual demonstration - occumpanied by written material.

Pictures rarely help me at all. I am not a "visual learner!". Those assembly instructions that are all diagrams -- hopeless. I tried to take guitar lessons and the instructor kept giving me pictures of where to put my fingers. I finally quit in frustration. Couldn't make head nor tail of them. A demonstration, on the other hand... Ah yes!

Gleweliz~ Jamie Anderson gives lessons... maybe you could get some pointers from her at Golden Rod, of course, when she's not busy.

Oh my goodness! I'm nowhere near that level. I can just manage to pick out a simple melody and have not mastered the concept of chords at all. Might go by there just to worship from afar... Not planning to bring the guitar with me anyway. The more I think about loading in and, especially, loading out all alone, the less gear I think I really need! Packing list keeps getting shorter and shorter.

If you do end up with a sag in your tarp that collects water, you don't necessarily have to re-do the whole thing. Use a grommet somewhere in the middle of the sagging side to draw down the tarp, creating a channel to direct the water. You may need to loosen the corners to make this possible.

I no longer have ponds form on the top of my screen house. I took flexible fiberglass poles from an old tent and wedged several of them from one side of the roof across the top ridge pole to the other side so they formed a rounded top similar to a conestoga wagon.

skwd- Okay, thanks! If I can I'll try to come by both days and stay whichever day Tropidyke and/or others are there. Wed might end up getting a bit too busy for me though, not sure yet. If that's the case I will definitely try again Thursday I'm pretty sure that would work.
