Hello Beautiful Womyn! I have been thinking of you and hoping you are well. I have been thinking of our Tuesday Evening Ritual; Honoring the Land and Ourselves. I thought I would put the seed of intention out there for us to start pondering, nurturing, growing, turning over in our minds as sod is turned by the harrow. The Goddess will guide us, my sisters. See you in August! Blessed Be! Roar

For those of you who are reading this (over 300 to date!) and don't know what this is about, the appropriately named Tuesday Evening Ritual; Honoring the Land and Ourselves, is just that and occurs on Tuesday at approximately 8pm ish-or when the nightstage rehearsal ends as a way to ritually celebrate our return to the sacred land and our sacred selves and kick off the week..
The location is near the Diana statue in the way back part of the nightstage audience seating area, past the reefer trucks behind cuntree store. This is a celebratory ritual and has a pagan/wiccan/earth based traditions structure but all are welcome. No latecomers, though.. and no pictures/video please!
The planning meeting for those interested in participating in some way; calling a direction, greeting, smudging etc, is traditionally 5pm-ish on Tuesday at the main kitchen seating area, bring your dinner and your ideas. Look for the witchiest looking group of womyn you can see sitting in circle near a big tree. That will be us!

This sounds wonderful. If I am not on a workshift, I will be there. Thank you.

Hello My Sisterz! Hoping you are well and enjoying the circling of the season's wheel. As today is Mother's day, I am honoring those womyn who have given birth, not only to children, but to ideas and possibilities. Creative Spirit is resonanting with me these days, as I create ritual here at home. Have others gotten the call to paint, dance, write, sing or any other expression of the artistic Divine? Perhaps creativity can be a part of our Tuesday evening ritual to honor the Goddess. Just mulling thoughts.... Blessed Be! Roar

Roar, I love that idea! The idea of expanding the idea of fertility to include creative ideas/expression really resonates with me.

It is a beautiful idea. I don't have children and I won't, but sometimes I have dreams that I have a newborn baby. One of my friends says I am giving birth to my spiritual self. I like that concept.

That reminds me of the chant we sang a few years ago at the ritual, "I'm a sacred woman giving birth to myself..."

It's really beautiful. The lyrics are:
"I'm a sacred womon giving birth to myself I'm a sacred womon giving birth to myself You'll hold me in your arms as I dive deeper in the well Of your loving eyes and wisdom, My truth that I must tell."

I like that song too. I think it is a Selley Graff song??? I think the first line does not repeat, but it is sung at the end so it sounds like it repeats...

yes, that is a great song, written by Shelley Graff who often leads the "singing portal" at the Tuesday evening ritual. . .you can learn more about Shelley's music at her website: http://shelleyg.com/ Thanks, Artemis, for explaining the basic logistics of the ritual and planning meeting. Artemis, will you submit the workshop proposal again? And, one of the things that we often discuss on this bulletin board is what this year's "intention" should be. The overall/general intention of the ritual for a number of years has been "Honoring the Land and Ourselves." And, Roar brought up the possibility of including something re: our creativity in the ritual. Does anyone have any thoughts re: what this year's intention should be? Any specific aspects of honoring ourselves and the land? or is that broad intention "enough" and we should focus on what we want to do to "work" that intention in the ritual? What do you think?? SKWD

Hi SKWD! Great to see you here. :) The proposal has been sent.
With respect to Roar's suggestion, honoring the land's creative force and our one creative energy can fit beautifully within the time-honored overall yearly theme of Honoring the Land and Ourselves. Its upbeat, it energetic and its celebratory. Every year we come together to create/recreate/give birth to ourselves and create the festival anew on the Land. This IS an honor. I love the chant suggestion and others come to mind along the same theme.
As a ritualist, I always want to keep an eye on how to actualize this in ritual activities similar to the weavings, the blessings and other activities we have done in the past to symbolize the spiritual 'working' of the magic we are creating. Activities participants can be a part of in addition to keeping the ritual moving. Once we settle on the theme, which I am happy to go along with this theme of honoring our creative selves and the creative force of the Land, we can begin to think about the details.

Hello Sisterz. I love the chant and especially that Shelly wrote it makes it extra special! Have been on a creative jag as I learned an new quilting technique yesterday and am working on the Festival quilt. You are all with me, spending time in my tiny living room. Your energy fills the space and makes me smile and wish it were August (except I have lots of work to do on this quilt! LOL!) I have submitted the Ritual workshop proposal to the Fest Office so that is all set. Still mulling over possibilities, which are numerous and endless. Yay! Love to all! Roar

I love the creativity theme - I've been setting an intention to do more writing of all kinds, including evocative poetry. Also envisioning doing as many dance wkshps at fest this yr as my spirit and body desires. Perhaps an invitation to each womyn to set a personal intention of expanding her creativity and then expanding it from within to express it through her body as a dance, starting individually and then gradually interacting with another and then a small group and then all one, accompanied by a simple chant that all may learn and sing. guided, yet organic. I know how challenging the hearing thing can be (on another topic - perhaps the Mic Check approach of the Occupy Movement could be helpful?) Doing a very little movement, breath in, breath out dance can be offered as an option.
I've lead DanceKinetics Expressive Movement wkshps in the past - it can be very fulfilling.
