This will be my 19th. First one was the 20th in 1995. Went for the weekend and camped in the middle of the Zone where they have all the parties now. Became a Worker the next year as a Path Performer roaming the Land body painting all week. Now there is the Painting Tree and we stay in one place. Easier to find us that way. Also quit a job years later to go because the Union wouldn't give me the time off. That year I quit, went to Festival and became an Artist. It was scary but I'm still creating art.

I was born an artist. Festival taught me to trust being an artist. To believe in myself. :o)

This will be my 7th fest. I will be with my 6 year old daughter and it will be her 6th fest and my 3 year old daughter and it will be her 4th fest.

I went once before having children and then various things got in my way of getting back for a few years. Once I had a daughter, it became even more important for me to get back to the land. Since then, I have only missed 1 year, when I was 9 months pregnant (and almost ended up coming anyway).

I met a little girl on the Crosstown one year. I asked her how old she was and how many fests she had been to. She said, "I'm 9, but I've been to 10 fests because for the first one I was in my mom's belly."

My first fest was in 2010 the 35th Anniversary. I came by myself. I ended up doing 3 parades and got to participate in the closing ceremony in the tambourine procession. It was a life changing Fest for me. Brought my girlfriend in 2011. By myself in 2012 and missed 2013. Will be coming my girlfriend of 17 years this year!

This year is #22 for me!

My then GF brought me to my first fest, and I went with a friend one year, and for about 7-8 years I had a partner that was a worker (which were cushy years, my friends)...but just about all other years, including this one, I go solo and usually camp near friends.

Wow, just counted -- this year is 23 for me - can that be?? My ex took me to my first in 1990 - I won the raffle opening night but was at the porta. She got excited, went to find me, tripped over someone's feet sticking out in the path, broke her elbow, we had to leave the land to go overnight to the ER. Ice & pain all week for her, it wasn't the romantic holiday I imagined. Do remember movies (at Acoustic!) and there was a short about *kissing* that I still .... mmmmmm....! Skipped 1991 - wasn't sure I'd go back but did, alone, and got courted by my now partner of every year since! We knew each other but she used to come pick me up for nite stage (in Jupiter Jumpoff from Crone Heights!) so sweet! Missed one year together when we were building our house ... but it's an annual trip for us - as long as we can make it work!

This will be my 28th! First heard about it in 1983 from the first lesbian I'd ever met (besides the girl I was in love with). She told me about a clitoral massage workshop that she attended. I knew then and there that fest was not for me. No way was I ever going to an event where 10,000 women are massaging each other's clitorises! (clitorii?) My gf at the time talked me into coming, so after making sure she knew I wasn't going to go naked, I decided to come. 5 minutes past the front gate my shirt was off. Didn't see the massage workshop but can only imagine I would have been thete if there was one ;) I've missed only 2 Fests since.
