Last year I just sat on the ground were ever I went... I am young and have very good posture so that worked out ok for me, but I think this year I'm going to try the stowaway http://www.rei.com/product/765270/rei-c ... away-chair. I am shaving several pounds of my total gear weight (I fly out) so I might just have room in my luggage for it! yay I was jealous of the womyn who had these chairs at fest... and there were quite a few...

I enjoy having a chair that has a backpack to carry all my stuff. Mine is similar to this and it works great. I camp in RV so cam be away from my site for the day, this makes it nice to carry all my stuff. Also love that it lays almost flat for naps at Day stage!

A friend of mine who goes to fest every year has one of these. (I mean the REI chair.) She loves it. It doesn't fold down very small, but it's very light. Hm....

looks lovely and comfy, although 10 pounds seems heavy to me. . .and it says the seat height is 11 inches. . .and the back is high. . .so, not one I'd be happy to have in front me at a concert. . .

herpergrrl- I tried that chair last year at the REI store and I have to say, it was not comfy. The problem is that the back is not very tall, so you can't relax your head. The top of the back lined up with my neck (I am tall-- 5'8"), so I didn't think it would be that comfy....

SKWD, I was talking about the REI chair. It's only 5 lbs, 9 oz. Doesn't say how high the seat is, but it looks low enough.

I got the Kelsyus Backpack chair. It was less than 30$ and came with free shipping from Amazon. You are right that it seems heavy, but it is not heavier than my other chair, which I basically take and leave by various trees downtown, so I am not walking around with it often.

It seems like a good deal, because it's a good height for me, and can involve lounging or not. I am a plan traveller, so I hope it won't make my bag too heavy!!! But, yeah, so far I am happy with my purchase!

@ in your dreams, that mountaneering chair looks great! it even has a shoulder strap!

@InYourDreams- Can you fly with a flat chair like that? I have a chair very similar to the mountainering one, that I love. it too folds flat, but it's frame is still so big, I didn't risk it last year. I wish I could find out if I could carry it on before going to the airport and potentially losing it!

I love my REI Stowaway chair. I use a large rubbermaid bin to carry part of my equipment to the festival and it fits in nicely. Very comfortable, easy to get out of because it's very stable. It sometimes goes on sale for 1/2 price around July 4th but I have to say it's worth the full price.

@corabantic I am 5'3" so maybe a shorter chair would work for me... :)
