wrinkles, I knew you were not referring to the WBW issue as the "great divide", I was just following my overloose thoughts from this to that without any transition, my apologies! I love reading your writing style. As most of us do, you are probably your harshest editor and critic. I am able to enjoy your writing with humor and interest. I do admit to being easily pleased. Did you send in a feedback form? I'm curious.

Trixie, your Saturn return is giving you excitement and thrills, eh? I can't believe someone stole parts from under your hood! My grandparents once had freshly planted bushes stolen right out of their yard while they slept, I thought that was a bold move. The dirt trail went down the road for about a quarter of a mile, then disappeared.

Bethsnewlife, don't regret the missed opportunities. A very smart womon once told me that the universe has a way of making sure we have many, many chances to make those decisions. Opportunities abound, even if they are not all identical. There is no such thing as a last chance. Well, maybe *eventually*. I also like that fest has made you more outspoken about womyn's rights.

Hello theghostroad. How were your soups? Soup and sandwiches are my absolute favorite foods. I am flexible on what counts as a sandwich, too. Tamales? Yes. Anything wrapped in a carb counts for me.

I am so lucky to have been able to visit Red this past weekend. She was looking FINE and strong. We will be back out geocaching in no time!

School is going alright so far. I think I'll alternate between overwhelmed panic and a cool confidence. I sure wish I could get straight A's though. I try to do my best and be content with my achievements, but the desire to excel just burns me up sometimes, unfortunately not when I'm on facebook instead of studying.

I am feeling pushed to make changes in my life, pushed by internal forces and external. Goddess, I am so slow to change. I so admire others who have taken the leaps, and landed in joy.

Work is popping off in a big way as well, and I am so so busy there. I kind of like feeling overwhelmed, I've decided. I am happier when I rush from one thing to another, I think I feel more productive. I need therapy.

How are y'all doing?

Oh yes, for everyone that hasn't heard, my catalytic converter got sawed off of my car the other night. The guy at work can fix it for cheap, and I have the funds to cover it, but let's just say I hope I don't need any more groceries before my next check :/

Anywho. Good to hear Red is looking good.

Nef - I feel more productive and happy in life when I have a lot going on. Then I can schedule and feel organized and efficient. Yep.

I received a present last night. It was weird. Still processing that and waiting to see what will happen next. Hm.

Trixie, that is ridiculous... Can not believe what people will steal. I once had a huge, several hundred pound cast iron bathtub stolen out of my fenced back yard. We had (with the help of several people) managed to get it out of the house, which we were rennovating. And stupidly said, no one will steal a several hundred pound tub out of a locked, fenced backyard. They did. Have to give them credit for however they got it out.

That's crazy! Who steals a bathtub?!!?

Apparently catalytic converter thefts are pretty common around this area of the state and lucky me with a jeep, since they are easier to steal from vehicles higher off the ground :/

- "If God created humanity in his/her own image, we have more than returned the compliment."

-i love Voltaire. He makes some of the profoundest observations in the least amount of words.

-and his "Candide" is one of the most brilliant and funniest books around.

-if someone would just ask me to cease and desist in Artemis' rogue thread i probably would.

-instead i'm left thinking that if Red is still reading she must think i'm nuts

-no, Nef., i did not send back the feedback. It was probably fine but i never could bring myself to be satisfied with what i was writing. (You were winning me over up until the "easily pleased" comment.) Hope the classes are going well.

-but the main reason for posting here is to let folks know that if they are interested in applying for crew, the application is up. ( I was really hoping that under the crew description for security they would include a link to a recording of the song the crew performed at the workers' wrap-up dinner. Not only was it well performed and very witty, but it was absolutely accurate to the communications/security crew work experience.)

-Go Detroit Tigers!!

Ah yes, the Tigers. Cool that a hometown team is doing so well...I'm trying to be excited...but baseball just isn't my thing.

Hockey is my thing. And there probably won't be a hockey season this year. Which means there is nothing to pull me out of my seasonal depression until it starts snowing. Life without hockey is miserable. :(

Anywho. Work is busy. Which is a good thing, but it makes it hard for me to be a slacker.

I'm going to get a haircut this weekend, if I can get an appointment at the snazzy place I want to go. I need someone who I trust to do dyke-y haircuts!

Sisters! It's so quiet!

Let's have a discussion about butch swagger. It's all I've been thinking about today lol

Yes, it's WAY too quiet in here! Butch swagger = Yay!

I'm playin' hooky today to be at home in Milwaukee with my guy and the kitties, and enjoying every minute of it. Somehow, my students were not sad that I cancelled class (for pretty much the first time ever in my time teaching).

butch swagger ...

1. I've been seeing a lot of that around here lately.

2. and I'm liking the view.

3. it's amazing what setting clear intentions can do.

4. be careful what you ask the Universe for, she will deliver,

5. maybe even 10-fold

6. and not always in the exact format you were expecting,

7. but then again ...

8. no matter what, bring your toothbrush

9. and be ready to dance.

10. yes ... butch swaggar.

2. I'm rich in love from my kids and the cats at the no kill shelter I volunteer at 2 or 3 hours aweek.
3. I wish it were August and at fest.

cant' come up with another 7 things.

1. Butch swagger. Love it, love to watch it. Just saw a t-shirt that I have to get before next fest. It says, "Chivalry isn't dead; She's a butch."

2. Fest magic still working in my life, my love, my friends.

3. Midway to fest party January 5th till ??? ... cannot wait. So in need of woo and womyn.

4. Loving visiting my love here in a small town. (A love that came about because of fest, mind you.)

5. Made the Dean's list again this semester!

6. My novel is done and the publisher has everything she needs. It is already an ebook, but will be out in print by the end of the year. (With woo, please... keep fingers crossed that all goes on schedule.)

7. Deserving of a second mention... I really, really, really can't wait till the Missouri fest party. Really, really, really. I am ready. (Edited to add that if you are on FB, you should really check out the page for this party. It looks as if it is getting huge and wonderful. Can't wait to see all of those womyn!)

8-10. Big woo to all of you, and the universe in general... catch it if you need it.

Love,
Beth

1 – Trixie Butch swagger is one of the reason I watch womyn’s basketball. Even the straight players are so in their bodies they walk with a swagger. It is fine to see that confident stride, that ease they have with themselves and it is a very good thing.

2 – The party in Missouri is starting with womyn arriving Friday night and staying until they are ready to leave. I have warned womyn that anything over a week and I expect help with the housework.

3 – I am ten weeks out from the knee surgery and doing pretty well. Riding a stationary bike and using stairs. By next August I will be in fine form.

4 – And oh yeah if I haven’t mentioned it lately you can call me RETIRED in 114 days.

5 –Yeah Bunny, setting or having clear intentions is many things. Clear intentions means you know what you want and there is very little more attractive than a womyn that knows what she wants.

6 – “That which you manifest is before you.” – one of my favorite quotes. Know what you want and most likely you will make decisions to get it.

7 – So over in FB, just so you know, if the Zombie Apocalypse or some such other civilization-ending scenario occurs, a bunch of womyn are heading to the land.

8 – Beth, congrats on making the Dean’s list, see you soon, bring your PJs and stay as long as you want.

9 – I live out in the boonies. I see lots of wild and feral kitties or dropped off pets. I have a rescued cat, that hates other cats, as will kill any cat that comes near our house. I am forming plan to try to trap the cats and get them neutered. Then release them where I found them. I am trying to figure out a way to feed them, but we have too many raccoons to deal with. Raccoons are not sweet, they are nasty buggers.

10 – So if the transport gets filled I will be toting a small rat terrier for one leg this Saturday. I think I can handle this little one. It will be a while before I am steady enough to handle two or three Brittanys.

13 - Always there.

1 I love you sisters!

2 This weekend we are having a Detroit crew Thanksgiving...nothing like spending the holidays with your choosen family! I'm very excited

3 I would love love love to go to the Missouri party (and the San Francisco party!!!) but time off work and limited travel funds right now won't let it happen.

4 On the monetary front, I may have an opportunity coming up...send me some woo tonight while I interview for a 2nd job squeeee!!!

5 Butch swagger! I met a super cute butch at the bar, a week later I asked her out and she suggested I meet her at her work (machine shop ;) for her dinner break. Which I did. I pulled into the dim parking lot as all the employees were walking out, I couldn't see anyone's faces but I could tell which one was her because of her BUTCH SWAGGER

6 SO HOTT

7 But alas we haven't gone out since then (and I've asked) so I will move on.

8 I know somewhere out there is a chubby androgynous to butch geeky girl with glasses who will be perfect for me. Sigh.

9 lol

This seems like the right location for my question:

With the holidays- in all of their myriad forms- upon us and this morning's realization that Hanukkah is less than 3 weeks away, will there be a BB Festie card exchange this year? Bunny, are you up for coordinating? I would love to participate again.

Sending peaceful Thanksgiving woo to all of you. I wish you happiness, warmth, and pie!

-spark
