I took Kip's advice and used my time off while my knee healed to do my holiday craft.

I mailed them to all the people on the list Bunny generated last year, plus others.

If a list gets generated this year I have a few extra to send to any new additions.

I don't have ten things today, I have three.

The Elisa Reviews LGBT Rainbow Literary Awards come out once a year. This year, I had a novel to submit... AND... I found out yesterday that my book took three different categories! I got first place in my main category, second place for best debut novel, and an honorable mention in yet a third category!!! Needless to say, I am bouncing off of the walls today.

Only 35 weeks til we’re in the line!!!

Trixie, it doesn't sound so bad when you put it like that. 35 weeks. :)

1. Hi everyone. It has been a long time since I posted on here but it makes me sad coming in and not seeing much activity - so here I am to shake things up! Post! Talk to me! Remind me that there can be festie connection year round, and that we are all one big community!

2. I'm so needy, right? lol

3. So excited that I have 2 festie visits happening this week! First I get to hang out with my festie bestie Scout for a couple of days, then I have a festie I have never met coming to stay for 4 or 5 days. Excited mostly about the Scout visit but the other one will be great too. She comes with good references lol.

4. So sad I likely won't make the Springfield gathering, even though I so want to. I had the money stashed away....then my dog and cat both got sick and my car needed new tires. Over $3000 later, I really can't justify a $600 air fare for a short visit. Well, unless I win the lottery lol - and the chances of that are pretty slim.

5. I am learning how to date. Seriously - I am not good at it. I have the best intentions of meeting women and casually seeing them, and then I fall in love and get all caught up in a relationship. I am not against relationships at all, but I think that I just need to chill the fuck out and date for awhile, or at least I need to learn how to not "settle" with women who aren't right for me. I am not always good at that. I have had some amazing relationships, and I need to remember that when I am in the throes of a new thing and ignoring all the warning signs like I did with the last woman I dated. *sigh*

6. Did I mention that Scout is coming to visit? *excited*

7. I want to go to half way parties or festie gatherings this winter!!! Start planning them closer to me folks. I have vacation time and I'm not afraid to use it!

8. Most people who are on my facebook already know this so sorry for the repeat info, but it is such good news for me. I thought my cat Jake was a goner as he was exhibiting all the signs and symptoms of a brain tumour - doc decided to try and treat him for an inner ear infection on the off chance that that was the problem....(even though he did not have the classic symptoms of that).....Lo and behold, Jake responded well and is now seemingly in perfect health! He is back to his old self! This is huge because he is my favourite cat I have EVER had (but I don't tell my other cat that lol) and my heart was absolutely breaking at the thought of losing him. I am so grateful for my vet for thinking outside the box.

9.Still a chance there is a mass in his brain (seizures...) but I am holding on to the fact that today he is healthy.

10. I may be on my way to being the crazy cat lady. Only prob is I could never afford all the vet bills!

11. I need to leave for work in 45 minutes. For what it's worth, I am against this idea and did not vote for it. However, I am grateful to have a solid well-paying job that keeps me in a home with a pretty good quality of life. I can pay all my bills and get to fest every year, so I should remember to just be thankful. It's easy to forget that when I am bitching and moaning about my job.

On dating...I feel like I've never really "dated." I've just kind of fallen into the relationships I've had ("Hey, I like hanging out with you in our group of friends" "Me too!" "Let's make it facebook official!" "Ok!")

I'm terrible at chatting up girls. For dating or otherwise. Part of me whats to have a slutty phase, but I don't have the skillz to make that happen. Or even know if I REALLY want that lol

Work sucks. I want a new job. I want to live in a festie commune house and be in charge of my own hotel and not have to deal with stupid management that thinks saving a few bucks is more important than taking care of valuable employees. (There was an incident today that has pretty much soured my mood and I really just want to go home. Instead I'm spending my workday on the internets lol)

ANYWAY. I love you all! The world is ending on the 21st and I'm having a party and you are all invited!
