This is my 26th fest. Not consecutive, tho. I've missed a few, mostly when I was really depressed, but I've been coming since 1978. My first fest was the 3rd one. I do NOT plan to miss anymore. Food, medical, home repair... they can all wait. Michfest comes first!

This is my second. My 1st was 2011 & last year I was moving & starting a new job so I couldn't make it. I'll be solo again this time (but not single - I was single the 1st time) and I hope my lady will want to join me next year or maybe for the 40th celebration! But I'll be there with or without her.

My first was 1985, the 10th anniversary, and when "Alive in '85" was recorded (LOVE that I can pretend to hear my own voice cheering in the crowd!)

My repeated thought that year was, "Oh my god, this has been going on for 10 years and I missed it!?!?!??" I missed going for my entire 20's!

The only year I've ever missed since that was 1993. Three weeks before fest, the Dept of Child and Family Services called to say, "we have 3 little ones here that match what you've requested. Come get them, if you want to have kids." So I sold my ticket and became a brand new mother of 3, instead.

For the next 7 yrs I came with some combination of my brood in tow.

I've come to Fest childless since my boy got too old for Bro Sun. Mostly for the full week, but twice on a 3 day ticket, when health crises of extended family were ongoing.

It's easy now for me to keep track of my number. This is the 38th Fest? Then this is my 28th.

This will be my 21st Fest! The 15th was my first and I attended 17 consecutive Fests in a row. I missed 31, 32, & 33...came back for the 34th and have been attending consecutively since. All but the first Fest (I was brought by my GF at the time and we went on a Wed.) have been on 6 day tickets.

I drove with friends from Chicago for the first 4 years, flew from NYC for the next 7 years, and all of the others I have flown in from Portland, OR to attend.

#8 in a row! I was 20 for my first...I had never heard of it until the February before my first fest...I take some solace in knowing that I really only missed two years that I could have gone (I didn't know anyone that went and my mom is not a fest type lol)

Re: Workshops

Come on! The archery workshop doesn't warrant even a hmmmm?

Close your eyes for a minute and become Artemis, or Diana, protector of girls and women, who also happens to be a damn good shot with a bow and arrow.

As a young girl, I found my older brother's archery set and being curious I "borrowed" them and set up a range in the backyard. I, being left-handed pulled the string back with my left hand BUT arrow was on the wrong side of the bow! shooting arrow after arrow, blissfully unaware of the redness forming on my right wrist kept shooting. An hour later, the redness turned into bruising and slight skin removal. D'0H!

So, needless to say, much to learn about archery. :)
