RV Thread: what to bring

Just wanted to write and let you all know that I won't be at Fest this year, I'm moving to Austin, selling my house and the timeframe is in flux. I sold my Aliner and bought a cargo trailer to move my goods. I plan on buying a Casita so I can be in RV for Fest next year.

I am going to miss you all! After my first 2 years at Fest, I hate giving up this year but it's necessary. My daughter is divorcing her husband and she has no one in her corner and he has tons of family in TX. Also, with the election and sequester, the RFPs dried up and I haven't worked this year so money is tight and I just can't afford to live in VA anymore.

Hope you all have a wonderful time at Home on the Land this year! I'll be thinking of ya'll!

Hello :)

I know this thread is for "What to bring".. and I've been searching for an RV social thread and haven't found one.. so I created one here: http://www.michfest.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=8295 so we could all introduce ourselves and hopefully get to know each other a little bit before we get to Festival.

Hope you will come introduce yourself!

Shade canopy & message to Thunder-hey Thunder, met you last yr. was wondering if you can tell me where you bought that amazing white shelter you have. Anyone else have any good contacts to buy shade pop ups/tarps/gazebo type things??

RV Campers, remember, the RV area is NOT a campground. It is a NON MOBILE area where we all park our RV's for the week. There are no hook ups, so arrive with your freshwater tank FULL and your holding tanks EMPTY. Be frugal with your battery and water usage!! Bring chocks for your tires, and remember to practice minimalism with your resources!! No tents are allowed in RV for obvious reasons. I am one of the RV Crew, so we would LOVE for you to do your work shifts in the RV area. It is a GREAT place to enjoy Fest. and get to know lots of fun people. Remember, all RV is general camping. (except for areas marked for Dart womyn with medical needs.) There is no loud and rowdy area, except in the Zone. It is especially important that we all respect quiet hours, even around the fire pit. The RV Crew loves all of you helping us build a village of womyn for all of us to enjoy. If you need help once you arrive, check with your neighbors first, to see if any of them can help you solve your problem. The Crew in the RV area will help you if possible, or offer suggestions. On Opening Day (Monday of Fest.) we are quite busy, but will help as we can. I hope you enjoy the Festival as much as I do. It is a great place to recharge our selves, and enjoy each others company. Have a great Fest !!
