I'm glad to hear that there will be a group of you at Fest in a workshop focusing on the Abraham material this week...
As one of those not on the land, here I am checking the BB to be closer this week.....
and wanting to share some recent manifestations...
*** I said to myself, "I would love to share time with my good friends," and within days one of my dearest friends called to say she was visiting.
*** I decided to make my 'staycation' as Fest-like as possible and the next day I was invited to an outdoor concert by someone I had just noticed myself thinking that she and I could do something together!
Noticing these serendipities enriches my world.
I'm focusing on en-joying my time and the abundance of my present.

| Thanks so much to everyone who showed up. I thought it wen really well, though I wish we'd had more time for open discussion. (I thought I'd requested a longer slot, but apparently I didn't.) Keep on joy-ing, everyone!

| Does anyone really believe that "a group of evolved teachers -abraham-" were/are speaking through Esther?

Hi AngelFairy -- I had the opportunity to attend the Abraham workshop at Festival this year -- it was a really nice gathering -- a wonderful opportunity to meet other womyn who are working on being deliberate creators. For me that was the highlight -- just sharing space with people who are thinking about things in the same manner that I do can be so powerful !!! it was really nice to have made the connection with these womyn on the Land.
I'm envious that you are starting a group -- I think working in a group can be a powerful way to play with the ideas and exercises. If I had a group near me (well, actually, I do, but I work on the night they gather) I think I would find it helpful to listen to a section of a CD / DVD and discuss how you could directly implement the information in your daily life. I would think that looking at some of the tools in the Ask & It is Given book would be useful.
I recently committed to 'working up the emotional scale' for a 30-day period after hearing Abraham saying that anyone could totally transform their life in just 30 days. It was amazing! I couldn't believe some of the issues I'd been holding onto could be totally released -- and pretty effortlessly. The key was actually getting in the habit of doing the exercise -- I think that is where a group could really be helpful.
I'd love to hear more about the format your group chooses... and your successes! Good luck!

I think a group would be great for sharing stories of personal experiences of how principles worked or are working for you. And if they aren't, what you think is getting in the way.
I like Dawnlefaye's suggestion of using the books and CDs as a starting point, too. Just the existence of a group would encourage me to immerse myself in the materials more regularly, as opposed to only when I get around to it.
I want a group too! there is one up on the North Shore, that I found on the Abraham-Hicks web site, but they never got back to me. I'm gonna go try again...
Good luck, angel, and keep up posted.

Is it ok to ask questions - even though im a skeptic?
My experience is that questions are a no-no...you just have to believe.
And anything that comes with that attitude is a red flag to me.
So, I have questions - and if anyone cares to try and answer them, I would appreciate it.
I found this synopsis of the teachings, and had a ton of questions
1. You Are a Physical Extension of That Which is Non-physical.
Is this referring to humans having a soul? Do they have opinions on whether animals have souls too?
If they do not, why is that?
2. You Are Here in This Body Because You Chose to Be Here.
My gut read this as "so babies who were aborted must have chose not to be here"
Seriously?
Or is it referring to, if im really fat...its because of the choices I made?
that I can agree with.
What about deformities?
My friend has a disfigured lip...did she chose that?
3. The Basis of Your Life is Freedom; the Purpose of Your Life is Joy.
Does freedom "truly" exist? How does Abraham describe what freedom and joy is?
Or does he leave that up to the individual to determine for themselves?
4. You Are a Creator; You Create With Your Every Thought.
My first thought was "did Esther create Abraham with her thought?"
To a degree I can accept what this says...but as whole, its illogical.
It's like believing that stepping on a crack, will break your mama's back.
5. Anything That You Can Imagine is Yours to Be or Do or Have.
So I just have to think and imagine hard enough? Or do I have to actually "do" something to make it happen?
Does Abraham believe that Hitler used this power of thinking to achieve what he did?
Are the jews who survived, seemingly by a miracle, the ones who imagined their survival?
And the ones who didnt survive, must have imagined they were going to die?
What about men who rape? are they raping because they imagined it long enough...
and it was theirs to be and do?
6. As You Are Choosing Your Thoughts, Your Emotions Are Guiding You.
This reads as logic...not magical words from Mr. Abraham.
What am i missing here?
7. The Universe Adores You for it Knows Your Broadest Intentions.
Does this apply to everyone? Or just good people?
How about Mr. Sowell in Cleveland who went to prison for raping a woman.
When he got out, the lesson he learned was "kill em after you rape em".
Which was working until his latest victim got away...we'd have no clue if she didnt go to police.
Does the universe adore him?
8. Relax into Your Natural Well-Being. All is Well. (Really It Is!)
How is all well?
So, this means my aunt didnt relax properly and thats why she died from cancer?
9. You Are a Creator of Thoughtways on Your Unique Path of Joy.
repeat.
10. Actions to Be Taken and Possessions to Be Exchanged Are By-products of Your Focus on Joy.
So, is this why some nations are extremely poor? Are they focusing too much on joy?
Or too little?
11. You May Appropriately Depart Your Body Without Illness or Pain.
Is this authorization? A direction? A choice?
What defines "appropriately"? Is suicide appropriate or not?
If I end up departing my body with illness and pain...what does that mean?
12. You Can Not Die; You Are Everlasting Life.
What does Everlasting life mean - in tangible terms?
I get that #1 already said we have a soul...which could suggest that you float off into some after-life place.
What does Abraham say the after-life looks like? Where do we go?
What do we do there? Are all the murderers and rapists and child molestors there too?
Obviously Abraham is there and talking to Esther he can offer real concrete visions of what we can expect.
What does he say on all this?
Does Abraham have opinions on jesus christ? religion?
Is there a GOD? If so, which religion describes him most accurately.
Surely he must be able to tell us the truth...right?

| jfoster: i would recommend listening to either (or both) the introduction to abraham (75 minutes) -- free download on their website or the abraham master course (i think that's the name) -- a 5 CD set that explains how abraham came to be "channelled" (they do not use that word) through esther and the laws of attraction. this was my introduction to abraham -- listened to (3 times) on a cross country car trip last year. i think these would answer your questions and help give you context to abrahams work. abraham has been teaching for over 20 years and your great questions have been asked by many others and answered by abraham on one of their many CD sets. i got the master course and many of their other books and CDs from my library, so maybe your library system has them -- i also highly recommend the CDs from the alaskan cruise several years ago -- a personal favorite of mine, i listen to it again and again. cheers!

For those folks who don't get the daily Abraham-Hicks email, this was in today's. This is really cool!
* The "Money and the Law of Attraction Card Deck" app has been selected by Apple as a featured app for their Whats Hot section on iTunes. It will be prominently listed on the front page of the App Store for the next week.
* Abrahams newest book, The Vortex, is in the top 100 favorite books of Amazon customers for 2009 (and it was only released on September 1!)
Abraham is everywhere!

Dawniefaye - isnt your response kind of like someone asking questions about christianty and someone says "you should read the bible"?
Actually, I was hoping you believers could tell me what YOU think. Not what Abraham tells you to think.
And, I did read a snippit online about how Abraham came to speak to Esther.
She read a book called Seth Speaks - about another woman who spoke to a non-physical entity.
As Jerry's work with "Think and Grow Rich" was not turning out very successful (how ironic that he was chasing wealth long before striking it big with Abraham) they stumbled across Seth Speaks.
Now, you could believe that she honest to goodness figured out how to speak with non-physical entities.
Or
you could believe that they found a new path to riches.
Im being honest here that I am a skeptic, im just simply asking you what you think about all this.
I would assume if you read and listened to all those video's, you should remember the answer to my questions - if Abraham himself has already answered them.
If you're simply not interested in defending what you believe...thats perfectly fine, just say so.
But, I cant fathom why you wouldnt want to if you truly believe in it...you should be more than happy to share what you think and know...
im not challenging YOU, im simply asking questions about what you believe in.
I dont have much faith that anyone here is truly interested in articulating what they believe...and im not even asking anyone to offer the "why" of why they believe. Thats personal, and not of interest to me.
I believe in the possibility of Aliens. Ask away...

YES, EXACTLY!!! And each person that reads the bible gets something different out of it -- you are so correct in drawing that parallel -- most excellent.
It's invigorating seeing your enthusiasm about the subject -- I suspect you will be able to draw your own truths from their material. Good luck -- keep me posted on your journey.
