Did the land walk happen at fest this year? Did anyone attend? How was it? Might it be repeated in 2010?

Sounds good! I've told my partner I'm treating the week like I were attending fat camp. I'm going to try to get in as much walking as possible. Hopefully come back to NY 10 pounds lighter.

Angelina,

I realize your comment was meant to be light-hearted. It may also end up being true in several ways: you may well lose weight at fest from walking, eating differently, etc. I've read that kids/teens at weight-loss camps often come back with better body image from being around other fat kids/teens for the first time instead of being the only one, so you may have a similar experience to that as well, as nearly every womon has a body image awakening or at least heightening from being in a feminist environment where the variety of womyn's bodies are celebrated and considered beautiful, not the just narrow range of young-thin-(mostly-)white-patriarchy-accepted models. Whether you lose, gain, or stay the same, please be gentle with yourself and your sisters. Fest is an amazing week, but it's not an easy vacation. Make you take care of yourself, including taking the shuttle if you need it.
