Angelina--all of the above (though any one person does not necessarily bring all of those items). Personally, I'm somewhat of a minimalist so I try to bring small and lightweight items, but there are some camp sites with tables, grills, etc.

Huge tents are great Angelina, but remember, you have to set them up and tear them down... perhaps in the rain, or the sweltering heat, or the freezing cold, or the dark..... I never spend a lot of time actually in my tent so I just have a smallish one. Grills and tables are a great idea too, especially since this is an anniversary year and it's very likely that the lines at the kitchen will be quite long. My friends brought a line of battery operated string lights to hang at our campsite and those were a lot of fun. They provided some light at night, and made our campsite really easy to spot. Chances are, if you can think of a way to use it in the woods, you will see it somewhere at fest. Just remember, the more stuff you bring, the more you have to haul!

I want to bring everything but realistically can not, lol. I would like some lights. I would like a grill of sorts. Not sure I could fit any type of table into the old impala especially with 4 womyn in it, hahaha. It's only my first year so in the future I can think of ways to bring luxary type items like a table, hahaha. Anyway, I can not wait. I've been searching around the internet for pics just to see what other womyn are wearing, carrying, doing, have, etc. but I am not having much luck for obvious reasons. Does anyone have a face book page or pix I could look at?

as a member of the prepared for anything, i've pared down considerably due to shlepping in & out is hard on the body.
i use the plastic rubbermaid totes for storage inside & outside as well as tables.
i use to always take in a cook stove, but this year will buy a 1 burner for coffee.
shiney things around the tent work well for finding your way. i've used coated cardboard stars or old CDs. either will catch the flashlight in the dark
seriously think how much clothes you'll need, then pare it down by 1/2. i've done that & will do so again this year.just be sure to bring 1 outfit for cold weather. i bring coat, hat, scarf & gloves. have used part of it every year at 1 point or another.
i bring 2 totes just for barter market on Saturday(those jams & jellies take alot of space & are heavy) so will have to trim down my other stuff this year.
i have a 6 person tent, which is really good for 2 or 3 but camp alone. my goal this year is to have plenty of extra space inside.

angelina, I loved your harry potter image, made me laugh!! I swear some fest "compounds" look like that!! I camp w/ a green striped canopy tent--roof only, no walls, w/ a small round table (got it in kids dept), and a tiny dome tent to sleep in. My cart converts into kitchen and storage, cooler makes another table top, tatamis as floor for nice barefoot time.(green striped to match ceiling!)

At first my g/f and I were thinking we should borrow items. But we also feel like this is our first time and we are already planning to make it an annual tradition so it would be worth the investment to have the stuff year after year. I'm going to keep an eye out for those tables. I didn't know they made such a thing but am glad cause it's what I had in mind. Thanks!

we bring our roll-up table each year - we put it in an old chair bag and band the chairs & table together as one piece of luggage. found the table at www.campmor.com

I bring a table similar to this one in link below every year, it folds down into itself and becomes a long slim box with a handle. We hardly ever use the seats as seats, instead they become four smaller table surfaces, one of which I keep the dishpan on for "corraling" small kitchen items. I have no idea if this is a good price since I got mine from my sister after her kids outgrew it.

Thoughts on huge tents - many bring a big tent to sleep in and a smaller tent for gear. My fest camping partner and I do the opposite - we have a small tent just big enough for an air mattress to sleep in, and a larger tent we can stand up in for gear. This way we just crawl in the little one to sleep, but can walk around the big one while rummaging through clothes, costumes, etc. And in the event of an all week rain, we could pull the chairs into the gear tent to hang out if necessary. (Never happened yet though - even on rainy days we just find a place to sit under an overhead tarp or canopy.

Remember if you go with the dual tent option (one for sleep, one for gear), you may be separated from the things you want or need during a crazy rain storm!

I am apparently not allowed to have a tent. Two years ago, I had a break-in at my apartment and some things were stolent. Valuables including jewelry, but also both of my tents. Before fest last summer, I bought a new tent. Yesterday I went to the storage locker that comes with my apartment. A few months ago, someone who helped my partner fix some computers stole some of those computers from out of that storage locker a and posted them to sell on Craigslist. When I went to get my tent out yesterday, I discovered it was gone, as was my Kelsyus camping chair. No one else has been in or had the combination to that storage locker but me and my partner. We're amending the police report, but I'm sure both are long gone. I loved my old tent, liked the new one I bought just before last fest almost as much as it was the same model just updated for 2009 and a four-person instead of a six and therefore easier to put up. I'm not happy. So I'm quite a bit less ready today than I thought I was. Grrr.
The bright side: I have a decent REI dividend from purchasing that tent last year, so now that gets applied to this year's tent. But that wasn't what I was hoping to use it for.

Last weekend, my girl & I camped out at a local state park. (I scored us a lovely camp private campsite on a bluff overlooking Lake Ontario). I packed all the gear I would be taking for fest ... plus some other things since I cooked all our own meals and we also had the dogs with us.
My ancient Eureka tent still works just great. I did find a teeny skeeter-sized hole in the mesh back window but will get that stitched up easily with some coordinating thread. :) One of the aluminum poles is oh-so-slightly bent and I'm pretty unhappy about that! :( I completely crave a new tent but it has a few good years left in it yet. Actually my girl loved the nature and the views but wasn't real thrilled with the tenting portion, so my next tent might be a pop up.
The new Thermarest Dreamtime sleeping pads (Thanks for the heads up on the sale, HF!) worked great .... AFTER I read the instructions and properly inflated them. Duh! LOL!
The new LL Bean cotton lined (not flannel! not nylon!) sleeping bags were cozy as could be and felt like nice sheets on my skin. I like a lot!
My new plastic tote in stylish apple green are spacious as a tote should be but the top does NOT stay on well when being moved about! Will need to bungee or duct tape it to make sure it makes it through the handling of schlepping without spilling my stuff.
